  • Re: Oh the joy of a sharp needle !!!!

I always change my needle after each project. I use an 80/12 usually for piecing and a 90/14 for top stitching or whatever the thread manufacturer recommends. If you ever have trouble with your tension the first thing to do is change the needle. If I'm working on a really large project, I'll change it when I'm about 1/2 way through piecing

  • Re: New from Lehigh Valley area of PA

My sister in law lives in Macungie! We live in Bangor. I have taken lots of classes at Pcono Sew and Vac in Stroudsburg, and that's where I bought my machine. I have an Elna Quilting Queen. I traded in my old Bernina, which I loved, but it had a small neck and couldn't do anything fancy because of it's age. I just love machine quilting!

  • wedding sham

This is one of the shams I made to go with Holly and Nick's wedding quilt. I just made 2 extra stars, added some borders, and quilted it. I had enough that I also made a small throw pillow out of another star. I got so into this, I couldn't stop!

  • Radiant Star Wedding quilt

I made this Radiant Star for my daughter Holly and her new husband Nick. They wanted sage greens and tan, with a aplash of blue. One of the blue had silver in it so on the border where I used that fabric I quilted with silver metallic thread. The outside border looked like a bamboo forest with gold, so I did a piano key pattern using gold metallic thread

  • quilts on my line

When I first started, I made log cabin lap quilts for everyone in my family...nephews, kids, mom, husband, step-kids...EVERYONE! This is a pic of the one I made for my husband, as well as another lap quilt I made for our living room. I washed them last spring, and when I saw them hanging on my clothesline, I just had to grab the camera!

  • New from Lehigh Valley area of PA
