  • Re: I am new to Quilting and want to try Quilt As You Go

Hi Pamela, I am newer to quilting too and the first quilt I ever did was a California King size quilt-as-you-go quilt measuring 125 x 125. It was done on a little $75.00 Brother machine from Wal-mart. I made blocks and attached them with sashing. I learned the method on YouTube from the gourmet quilter. E very one is right - you can find and learn just

  • Re: Increasing the size of a quilt pattern

Barb C you are certainly correct. It is YOUR quilt and you do what pleases you - whether that means adding extra borders or blocks to make it the size you want. I haven't been quilting for that long - and have made quilt tops according to a pattern and also quilt shops that I have designed and made up as I went along. I tend to like the ones that

  • Re: What quilting grip gloves have you found were good?

I have the Fons and Porter gloves. They work okay, however, my finger nails have poked holes in both middle fingers and I have to sew them closed. Not pleased about that.

  • Re: Machine Advice

Karla - I bought a Sapphire 875 Quilt - found that the lights were too hot and upgraded to the 930 Sapphire. I absolutely love this machine! Haven't had trouble changing the needle or with the needle threader. My 875 Quilt came with walking foot and open-toed free-motion foot and a sewing table. When I upgraded - they said just keep all the great
