pp is not something that I have done. I'd like to learn because you all make it sound so fun. The intricate work that you can achieve from this type of piecing is absolutely breath-taking. I love it. I'm finishing a quilt-as-you-go quilt. Not really thrilled with the way the back looks, but that's the way it goes.

  • Re: Paper for paper-piecing

Thank you for the suggestion of onion paper. I learned to type on one of those "new" electric ones. It had an auto return button. Ooooooo. But I kept trying to use the manual return lever that was no longer there.

I had taken an EQ7 class at QU last year. This is one of the first ones I did trying to learn EQ.

My reply was for machine quilting. I don't hand quilt. I wouldn't think it would make a difference if you beaded first or quilted first.

It is better to bead after quilting. You will break needles and the frustration of trying to replace one and then pick up where you left off on your quilting is not worth it. Or your needle will move to the side of a bead and it throws off your quilting pattern from the back. You can bead in a way that will show or not show your thread from the top

  • Hey from Alaska

I'm excited to be a part of QC. There are a number of Groups that I've joined already. I'll need to pick a few brains to help me with a couple of projects I've got going. I look forward to getting to know and quilt with you.
