That looks like a fantastic tool and way to do HST's! I will have to see about getting that set.

Beth, I am beginning to get quite the stash built up thanks to the pillowcases that I am making for our local hospital. My SIL who is a quilter too has been getting me lots of fabric from a second hand store in her area plus our local Goodwill store has been very generous in their donations of nice sheets and fabric that we can use too! I really do

Marge, Thanks for the link for the video tutorial. We have a similar tutorial on our site from the Missouri Star Quilt Company that does that same method for the borders of the pillowcases. It IS super easy. My friend Judy and I are planning on filming a video this weekend on how to make the pillowcases using that method and also one for doing the french

[quote user="Read or Sew"] Thank for the help. Yes I am left handed, not sure why that would make a difference as both cutters say they are for either hand. I have a fiskers and an olfa. I made fleece blankets for both my son and daughter years ago...the kind you tie the edges. I know my son still uses his all the time. He used the first a bunch and requested a second one because he got so tall and the first one was too short. :) I know she will get lots of use out of her quilt. I keep looking at it thinking "Wow! I can't believe

Thank you Judy. I wanted something that would have lots of contrast to it and be very visually interesting for her.

I am SO excited that I finally got this done!! It is my first quilt and I did the whole thing myself. I learned that I really enjoy the piecing of the quilt top but I am not real crazy about doing binding. I think I would enjoy the quilting part much better if I had a walking foot. I am proud of the fact that I did this quilt without any formal pattern

Wow!! That is gorgeous! I have some ribbons in a box from my horse show days as a child. What a wonderful way to display them. I am sure it was challenging working with the ribbon material. You did a wonderful job and I am sure she will treasure it. :)
