Diana thanks, they do have a web site and a fb page. It's under The Whistlestop Quilt Retreat. I stumbled into it on fb that's how I saw it. I believe she opens for business in March, they are currently still decorating.

I'm in, have downloaded everything. I've not done applique yet ,so if you hear a lot of bad words floating in the air in the next few months, they're coming from me in TN.

Sukochi, obviously you took great offense to my post. I am sorry that it upset you as no offense was intended. I merely saw what looked like a nice place and wanted to share it with others. It wasn't meant to take the place of any other retreat. I am sorry that new ideas or suggestions don't seem to be welcome.

FYI, Just saw on FB a new retreat that will be opening next month in East TN. Beautiful old house in the country that she is fixing up for quilters. It's called the Whistlestop Quilt Retreat and it's in Sweetwater TN.

Thanks Bev, I definitely intend to stop at the Patches and Stitches. I didn't see the Madison one so will check that one out also!

I am going to be in Huntsville all day Friday and was looking for suggestions of quilt shops I could visit while I'm there????

Thank you all for the response to my question. I will use my mat for now.......never crossed my mind till Nana mentioned it. Like I said brain takes a vacation when math is mentioned. LOL I was browsing around tonight and actually found a 20" and a 15" square creative grids ruler, but they are a bit pricey so will add them to the wish list

Okay I admit I am extremely math challenged. All these angles, triangles, squares.......all this geometry and math has completely blown what few math smart cells I have. I learn by watching, and couldn't get rotary cutting and all the awesome rulers until an instructor, with much patience, taught me how. Anyway I have signed up for a basic machine

Hey Bev, The MCQG is on my list of things to start. Hope to see you there. I am anxious to join a group esp one that has a sit -n- sew. All the years I've lived here I worked agency, and then finished working nights up on the plateau. When I stopped working I found out fast that I had no life outside of work, as I'm a bit of a loner and shy

whoa I see creating my signature didn't work so great. Better try that again!
