  • Re: Craftsy Block of the Month Class #2

Very nice! I just love batiks. I've been collecting batik fabric forever. One of these days I'll have to figure out what to do with them all, but one of my new year's resolutions is to not start anymore quilts until I've finished the 2or 3 I've got going already!

Count me in! I have 9 month old twin boys... and I've finally been able to squeeze in some type of workout either while they nap or while they are playing. My goal is to drop 20 lbs by the summer. Even though my pants (the ones I bought after I had the boys) slide right off my hips, the scale hasn't budged!

I am happy that she was able to find a job. Myself? I am an art teacher and 6 credits shy of being certified in Special Needs (but can't afford to return to college to finish the credits). I've been out of school since 2007, and there is no jobs in site. The few short term leaves that are available I either don't get called for, or I get

Today... hmmm. Well, I have a thousand things to do as usual, and getting OFF of this computer is priority number one. However, I need to upload photos to Walmart.com to compare their prices in prints and photo gifts to Shutterfly. I prefer Shutterfly, but Walmart is local and I can skip out on shipping. So we'll see, I hate all of this sitting

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful ideas and resources. I will certainly check out potholders and thanks for letting me know about your batting secrets! I have plenty of regular batting, I never considered doubling it!

pot holders might be a good idea. I need special heat resistant batting though correct? I don't have a lot of money at all. My husband and I have 7 month old twins and I had reduce work to part-time. We're just scraping by, so my gifts are all handmade! Thanks for your suggestion :)

I am working on finishing up a Christmas gift that has me stumped. I made a table runner for my step-mom in a basic zig zag quilted pattern out of muted green and brown and a cream (they have a very rustic home). I don't have a lot of the fabric left and since I dug it out from my stash it's sort of old and I can't find it anymore (I am

  • Sewing Shortcuts

When sewing many small pieces together, instead of running back and forth to iron your seam, use something hard like a bone folder to crease or "iron" the edge. This saves time and is especially useful when you are making pieced blocks, unless of course you prefer the exercise!
