  • Re: Hot pad sizing

We have a stack of homemade hot pads in the kitchen, my favorite measures about 7 1/2 by 9 inches. My mother-in-law likes them a little smaller. I like them a little larger. We use them to take stuff out of the oven, microwave and put on the table. I usually double the insulbrite or use l layer of insulbrite and one or two layers of cotton bat if I

  • Re: Bobbin storage

I know exactly what you are talking about, they are great for lots of things, I have three stacked up on the shelf right above my sewing machine within easy reach. One for buttons, one for sewing machine needles, and one full of odds and ends like magnets for tote bags etc. I could probably use a couple of more. BARB

  • Re: What Are You Up to Today? #7

Today I am watching the snow come down, six inches so far, so I am home catching up on e-mails. I can remember the first few quilts I sold, I started by going to local craft shows and taking orders. Then I started working at a quilt shop and made displays and custom orders. Now the quilt shop is gone, the owner has passed away and I stay busy doing

  • Re: I need a new sewing machine that's good for machine quilting. Any suggestions?

I just found your question about your quest for a quilting machine. I have a Janome 1600P QC, They came out with this model the summer I was shopping for one. I ordered it thru a local dealer, Grace Mini-Pini Frame and all. It came with a stitch regulator that is made for that model. I love it, I quilted without one for years, the stitch regulator really

  • Re: Start planning for Mystery Quilt 8

Forgot to mention, for those of you who have problems with 1/4 inch seams. I use my 1/4 strip piecing foot on just about any sewing. It i is 1/4 inch foot that has a guide on the side of it. Not just for long strips, I use it to piece triangles and piecing blocks too. If you have one, use it, If you don't see if you can get one for your make and
