I loved the book Ricky Timms put out 6+ years ago on Convergence quilts. He explained the technique in detail. I was in too much of a hurry and cut some of my strips wrong. I put it together anyway and this is how it turned out. I machine quilted some curvy wave lines and I find it quite striking hanging on my wall.

I had lots of strips cut in my scrap bag, so after fishing some out, I decided to do this simple little quilt. I'm quite pleased with the finished quilt. It really brightens a space.

This is my finished quilt from blocks my secret sister sent me. I put them together with some fabric she supplied with the final blocks and machine quilted the enitre quilt.

I agree with you about washing fabric.... This is why the manufacturer uses pesticides and chemicals in production. On it's journey to your door, the fabric encounters many countries, warehouses and then your fabric shop or another warehouse if you purchase online. I grew up in what used to be a small town called Howell. It's in lower MI west of Detroit. Our family used to vacation near Muskegon years ago. I love Lake Michigan.
