I finished the MQ8 quilt top. I'm really happy with it. Lots of tiny pieces and way out of my comfort zone. But, I did it! I found fabric for the back and soon I'll get it quilted & bound. In the meantime, I started on another top. This quilt has lots of HST's. Now, I've always done HST's by cutting squares, drawing the seam

Finally, the top is done! Now I need to find a suitable back for it. I really had a lot of fun with this. Thank you, Nana! I learned a lot and really stretched my comfort zone. Here's a pic - it wouldn't stay up on my wall so I laid it on top of my bed. Then, of course, one of my fur-children just had to check it out...

I'm about half way done with step 6. I'll post a pic when done, but now I'm rethinking my border fabric. The butterflies just don't look right with all the geometry in the top! So, I think I'll just use more of the same fabric for inner/outer borders. Unless, of course, I can find a suitable replacement between now & completing

Whew! Long, but productive day. Got the second half of the "assignment" done and all of the HST's sewed, cut & pressed. Have about 75 trimmed. Seeing double now so off to bed & tomorrow's another day!
