Nana, mine just want to be by me. As you can see, my sewing area gets a little crowded. LOL which can make my sewing go slow. But my furbabies ( or furless baby) don't shed so they really don't bother me. I can't have dogs that shed or cats because of allergies. Part of it is my fault, I just have to love on them and then I pay with sneezing
I love the idea of the pillowcase for the wrapping. I've used that for a wedding gift and blankets for baby gift but didn't think of it for the SS. Thanks for sharing that idea.
Michelle, I wrapped all Christmas presents last year and put them all in homemade Christmas pillow cases full of presents
After using the cold pack with cover this weekend I have come to this conclusion. The area of the body that feels cold the least is the top of the shoulder, also the most protruding bone area. This area needs no batting. Carolyn, your little Yorkie is so sweet. I have two and a Chinese Crested. One Yorkie has a nest on my sewing table. The other Yorkie and Crested have drawers and blankets. LOL SPOILED!
As you can see this one is quilted. I am in the process of making one with just the two layers of fabric. I'll let you know which I prefer. Think it will be the one without batting. Oh well, the other will be useful for something else.
I'd be interested in how well the one works without batting. This is

Bonita, your quilt is gorgeous! What was your vision?

Melody, you are moving along quickly with your blocks. I love the batik colors. Aren't batiks great? They add that variety of color. If the flowers in your yard look like this then you have a beautiful yard. :-D

Gini, I thought "fudging" was just adding your personal touch to a standard pattern. We all have to add a little "personality" to each block. How boring if they were all identical to each other. LOL Great tip for people who need to learn its okay to change it up. ;-)
