This is about twin size. My son is standing on a chair on the deck, so it' s a little crooked in the picture. It's inspired by a pattern with applique bears on it, but I couldn't figure out applique so I went rogue. This is for my one-year-old grandson. The light today shows up my novice quilting. I wanted the squares/diamonds to be wonky, but maybe not that wonky! :) It's an original pattern, everybody seems to enjoy the colors.

Does anybody know of a current or available collection that has an old world map look to it? Or just something subdued with maps etc? I made a quilt for my grandson with an Northcott panel and my 27 year old son loves it and the colors, but the panel is too childish for him.

Newbie here. Have a brother CP7500. Bought Gutermann polyester thread for it. Seems to work fine. But wouldn't work for a free motion class I went to, instructor said I needed to use cotton thread in a Brother to do that. What should I buy for everyday piece sewing? Thanks!
