Just wanted to let everyone know that I had an occasion recently to try to get back some ironed off Frixon pen markings. Yes, if you put it in the freezer, the marks reappear. I don't know exactly how long it takes as it was in the freezer for more than a day. Gini is correct about the pens leaving a residue on your fabric. I used using the Frixon

Patricia Faye, you are amazing. Your quilt is lovely and you must be proud of it. Thanks for being our leader. You are an inspiration to us all. Leslie on Vancouver Island

Thanks you Gini and Kris. I have tried it, and eventually got to a message saying "missing plug in" so will have my DH (who is a PC computer whiz and resisting learning about Mac's-lol) to help me. I know I need to update the operating system so might just get on that. I am really enjoying seeing all the blocks and finished quilts being

And could I ask to be pointed to the "how to add a picture" instructions that Gini provided fairly recently. I have tried to find it without success. Of course, I thought I knew how to do it with my Mac but was having mail program problems at the time. The email problems are now sorted out but I haven't been able to figure out how to add

I'm no expert at this, but I wonder if you can add something to provide a separation of the sky from the land. I find with the background one fabric, that it's hard for my eye to set the perspective. Perhaps an embroidery line or two for grass, and/or a cloud in the sky. You have chosen great fabrics and the tree looks very inviting as I love

Hi Melody. I haven't tried this, but I did read up on the Frixon pens before buying them as I was away and wanted to bring them back for my quilting group. I read that if you put your item in the freezer that the marks would come back. It was sort of a tongue and cheek remark about knowing where the quilt was to be used in case it was going to be

Thanks for the video suggestions. They are helpful and reinforce what I had recently been taught. Good resource though when I need a refresher. I have found a great (at least I think it's great right now) background fabric for the Cottages patterns. I'm looking forward to getting started in March once we are back home. Leslie from Chemainus

Thank you Gini. I will check for those books in our local library when I get back home which will be early March. I have an applique book I bought as well, but caan't remember the name of it. I decided to search YouTube myself and found a the Missouri Star Quilt Company has a 4 part series called Applique like a pro and they cover most of what we

Hi Gini. As I am fairly new to applique, I would ask that you post the youtube videos on here. I have a suspicion that there might be several of us that would like and benefit from them. Thanks Leslie usually on vancouver Island

If you need to have the end secured, I think that it's best not to use the auto cutter for this sewing. Pull the upper and bobbin thread to the top side and then thread them in a needle and run them between the layers for a bit of a distance and then cut them off. Leah Day suggests this and she is a great FMQ. You can find her on Youtube or on her
