I made my first quilt with blocks hand embroidery in 1972. I used all six strands for the little zoo animals. For the batting I bought a mattress pad from a garage sale and cut it to size. I use my serger for flannel baby blankets, tote bags, some quilts and little quick things that need to be neat. Like an eyeglass case. I would love to learn more uses for it. I took a t-shirt class once and liked it. Should take some more classes. Deb

On the salvage edge there are numbers and color matching dots. In your search engine type in the name of the company and the numbers and see what comes up. also you can email the company directly. I use the clear round container from the deli beside my sewing machine and long arm. I use binder clips to hold the container to my long arm. I put painters tape, stick side out inside the one beside my sewing machine, because it gets moved around and knocked over from time to time. Make a pillow case with the leftover fabric to store the quilt in. Don't forget to label it with the date and other info. good luck with the next step
