    Congrats on new granbaby! I find myself having the same problem , never no "me" time. Always doing something to take are of family . I guess we are lucky though. Without family, we wouldnt have them to give quilts to lol... Happy Quilting!!!

    Thank you all for your advice..I will go with the cotton thread for now but will test the embroidery thread at some point just to see. Im working on a memory quilt for my son and want it to be as perfect as possible lol.

  • What Can Be Used For Applique Thread?

    Im new at applique. Never tried it yet but Im watching videos and reading posts on how to do it. I know you can use silk or aurifil thread. Can you use ,say a strand or two , of embroidery floss? I have lots of that and would like to use it up. Also which needle is preferred the most?? Thank You!

    I also had trouble with triangles until I read an article about using Fons and Porters Quarter Inch Seam Markers. Just lay them on the fabric , yellow line at corner and mark both sides of marker.... turns out perfect triangles everytime....hope this helps..

    Yes, I saved my 3 yr olds baby clothes. Trimmed off all the seams etc. I bought an accuquilt cutter and cut squares of different sizes. Right now Im using graph paper to plan out all the squares of different sizes. In the middle of the quilt will be a picture of my son that has been printed out on fabric. Once completed I will post a picture of it here

    Have been playing around with quilting and I love it!! Finished 2 quilts with some errors but I am determined to learn every little trick, technique there is to learn about quilting. Right now I am working on a memory quilt for my 3 year old son. Would be glad to here from anyone that has tips to pass on.. Happy Quilting!!
