Thank you for the info!! I guess rather than it being a one or the other choice it is more that they work together, each doing something a little different?? Does that sound right? With the accuquilt - does this do long strips, for instance will it cut a yard into 3" strips? And I would have to purchase a separate die for that, right? And another

My least favorite part of quilting is the seemingly endless chore of cutting pieces. And I dislike this not just because it takes so long but because no matter how careful I am I cannot cut out nice clean squares or rectangles. There is always that eigth or sixteenth of an inch that every piece seems to be off. So I've been googling ways to get

The web site links are great!!! Thank you. Even if I can't play with the exact prints I am using they will still work. I'm just looking for generalities such as how would this quilt look in black in white or repro fabric. Right now I have so much fabric I need to use up. I've only made 4 quilts and about 20 small snowman pillows, but I have

MNancy - yes, the quilt I want to make looks very similar to the first picure you posted, almost identical. And I have to say I love the second one, it gives me ideas for another quilt to put on my list. And thank you to everyone for your responses and to the links, I've been given some great info. I honestly thought that I would have to trace 700

Barbara - I can't do what I want on their website but their software looks great. If I had more time to devote to quilting this looks like something I would definitely invest in.

Thank you for your responses!! It's good to have such knowledgeable people that know the answers to my "hard" questions. I found the name of my quilt pattern - it's a thousand pyramids quilt. Row after row of several trianges. I'm going to do a little fooling around with my rulers and such to see what I need to do. I think this

I'd tried doing a copy and paste but can't so I'll describe. The triangle is an isoceles - 2 sides a little longer than the third size (approximately 3" as best as I can estimate). The second template would be half the size of this, to use around the outside edges of the pattern. And the corners are squared off, after the 1/4"

I've told myself no more fabric buying until I use up a major portion of what I have . . . . so I have a small number of quilts in mind to make. I'm still a major beginner in this, having made only 4 quilts and some small pillows - all of which used squares, rectangles and a very small number of triangles. The next quilt I want to make is labeled

Good morning everyone, I'm trying to find if anyone knows of a web site that shows how different patterns will look with different fabric choices. For instance, if I see a pattern I would really like to use but the picture of it is in colors that are not to my liking is there a web site that will show me how this (or any other pattern) might look

Agnes - thank you, I likey our idea of adding a row of topstitching. I have another related question -shoud the top (quilted part) be made up like a quilt with batting and a back (which won't bee seen of course) and stitched together before the actual pillow is made, or should the top be left as is?
