I finished the quilt top using the scrappy squares directions here in the Scrap Happy group. I don't remember what size squares I started with, but it seemed like too many of my seams were matching so I used scrappy 1.5" sashing between the blocks. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, I'm happy with it once I got it all together

I finished piecing my July scrappy a couple weeks ago and just got a picture today. Didn't quite get the whole quilt in the picture. I ended up with lots of 1/4" and 1/2" pieces in mine. I'm still not sure I really like it, but it will be a good one to practice machine quilting on after I take the longarm rental class at a local quilt

I'm using foundation paper for the strings, so to help with the bias issue I was having I'm going to leave the paper in place until I have the 4 blocks sewn together. It will take a little longer to tear the paper off, but I'll be happier with the results. I have 1 sewn together, and lots of other 3 1/2" squares to put together.

Is anyone having trouble with the bias edges? And if you are pressing all the seams towards the background how are you handling the bulk when you sew the blocks together. I've got one strip cut into blocks and tried sewing 2 of them together and ripped it out because of the bulk. I think it might have been the bulk of the seams that was causing
