  • Re: Craftsy Block of the Month class

I haven't started on any of the blocks yet either. I was waffling about whether or not to make them since I don't love some of the blocks and putting so much work into something without knowing what the end product is supposed to look like isn't really my thing. I've decided to go for it, but do mine in all solids. I think I can handle

My rulers were always slipping and it gets very tiresome to press down hard to keep them from slipping, so I used bumper dots for cabinet doors/drawers to keep them from sliding. They're small, clear, self-adhesive, and cheap--far cheaper than replacing all my rulers with non-slip ones. I already had them on hand because I use them on my kitchen

  • Re: Darn it! Blood on my white quilt

I keep Tide to Go pens handy. I've never gotten pricked and bled on a white quilt, but I do it frequently while sewing patches on or altering my hubby's dress whites. Tide pen and a couple of paper towels always helps take the spot out.

Well, I kind of feel like I should at least LEARN the technique. But the blocks would probably go straight for the bin afterward, so what's the point. I seem to LOVE the one no one else really likes--the chevron. But then, I'm a little nuts for chevrons in general...must be something to do with my military hubby's uniforms. ;)

I signed up for the class, but haven't had time to make the January blocks yet, let alone get started on the February blocks. I really don't like some of the blocks, though. I know I'm picky, but I kind of hate the designs. I guess I should soldier on, but it's tough to put a bunch of work into learning to quilt when I think the patterns

  • Re: Fabric for Life Sweepstake

I haven't heard anything either. :( Color me sad. I haven't even seen anyone posting on Facebook saying that they'd won anything. That's sort of a bummer. I was hoping at least for someone to be totally ecstatic about winning and declare it to the world so that we could see it's not just another one of those "fake" contests

Oh, I have had the fiskars cutter for years and I love it. I use it for everything...fabric and paper. I just keep blades for paper only, and blades for fabric only. I don't like the fiskars blades as much as I like my Olfa rotary cutter blades, but the fiskars cutter is fantastic. I wish they hadn't discontinued it. I wanted to get one for

  • Re: Do you block your quilts?

Oh, thank goodness that the general consensus is that quilty things do not need blocking. I do not need the extra headache. I already have knit projects all over the place being blocked all the time.

  • Quilting supplies/patterns sale

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Dewberry Lane is closing their shop and everything in their online store is on sale...plus they have a coupon code for 40% off everything. The code (also available on the home page of the store) is GOING12. They do free shipping for orders in the US over $55 as well. They aren't super speedy shippers,
