Looks like you might be the person to speak with about the Leavenworth Retreat in Sept 30-October 5th? I wonder if there is room for one more and how do I find out the cost? Accommodations? I am very interested and do not mind sharing accommodations as needed. thank you! Barbara/Corky

I made this quilt for my brother, George. We grew up in Sitka. I used specially printed Sitka fabric as the focus print and a Lisa Moore pattern.

I made this doggie wall hanging for my Secret Santa Sister 2010. She loves purple and dogs. The pattern is free online at Fons&Porter.com. Cats too, I believe.

Here is me with the book it was published in. They call the pattern 'Rain Drops' but I'm sure it has many other names.

I made this quilt when I fell in love with blue and white (ongoing love affair!). It was chosen to be in a book by Kansas City Stars. I wish I knew how to add a second picture of it..

About me. Hmm. Well, been sewing all my life. Quilting for past 15 years or so. Now that I am retired, it is my main activity. I belong to many guilds, go to classes, retreats, etc. Have a huge stash of fabrics, patterns, magazines, etc. Trying to downsize it a bit. I also embroidery and love to do hand sewing such as English Paper Piecing, hand stitching

No, not from Eleanor Burns (although I love her and respect her bunches). I taught medical assisting for 30 years and learned the surgeons knot through my clinical assisting prior to teaching. Handy knot and I use it a lot.

When I need to tie a knot so it won't come undone, I use a 'surgeon's knot'. Picture tying a knot. You turn one thread under the other, pull then repeat, right? Well, Instead of just turning the thread under once, do it twice. On the 'repeat' part, do it twice again. It holds it tighter and won't slip.
