Praise the Lord, Spring has arrived! This has been the 1st week that it hasn't rained at all. I know some of you are still experiencing snow, rain and flooding and you're in my thoughts and prayers. The wintry weather has pounded parts of the country relentlessly and my hearts goes out to those of you being affected by Mother Nature. DH has

Hi all, I'm amazed that I haven't been to QCA since Feb 7 and have little to report. My sister is finally home, although she'll be feeding through a stomach tube for the foreseeable future. I've spent several days trying to organize her room. She is a bit of a hoarder... We got shelving to put up so she would have a place for her books

Hi All! I hope you're enjoying the longer days. I know I do! Two things... I'm looking for opinions from anyone who has or is considering a Simplicity strip cutting machine. I looked on Jo Ann's website and the reviews were mixed from love it to hate it. My other question is about spray starch. I've noticed in a couple recent magazine

Thank you Sukochi for sharing. You're so right about the guilt! It seems that whatever the circumstances, near or far, we feel compelled to do something! Our 90 year old aunt is adamantly opposed to moving into assisted living. My DB, SIL, DS#2 and myself are sharing the responsibility of making sure someone is there every morning to make sure she

Thank you Barbara for letting us know. Heavenly Father, You know these women, their circumstances and their love for You and faith in You. We thank You Lord and ask a speedy and complete recovery for both Thea and her mother. We know that where two or more are gathered You are in our midst and ask this in the name of Jesus. Thank you, Jesus!

Sukochi, I hope your trip to Atlanta is safe and uneventful. I'm sure Jim's vision will get better after surgery. I'm assuming that he doesn't have some other eye problems. I had cataract surgery and the improvement in my vision was phenomenal. I got some glasses last week for watching TV and reading with less eye strain, but I don't

After a cold spell the days are somewhat warmer here. Thank God the days are getting longer! My DS is now out of the hospital. Thank you all for your T&P. She'd been in intensive for almost 3 weeks. She is now in a skilled nursing facility and doing much better. I'm back to my sewing machine. Good thing too, since the month is almost over

Hi Joyce, it doesn't sound dumb. It took me a few tries to figure things out. At the top left of the 'Message Boards' page, you'll see Forums**Discussions**Off Topic. or which ever thread where you want to post. You should see "Write a new post". Getting to that point was what was holding me up. Hope it works for you. Hugs

Thea, I'm sorry that you're in so much pain and you're right. The weather doesn't help. It seems that our body barometer reacts to conditions outside even when we're inside. I'll be keeping you in prayer. We had snow on and off for a few days with only an inch or so at our elevation. Late Friday it cleared up and the temperature

Sukochi, What a blessing that quilt will be to Afton and his family. The pocket is a good idea. As he gets old enough he can look at his milestone beads and remember what a brave, determined boy he is. I don't know about the label. Will it be on the front? Could those verses be written or embroidered as part of the quilt border? I think that would
