Hi Millie. Nice to meet you. I think I have decided to use muslin to back the Craftsy BOM. I also decided to do 16 blocks rather than the 20. It is nice to have a friend here. I am new to this as well. I am also taking Leah Day's Free Motion Quilting Class a Sampler. She is wonderful.

Thanks for the tip Susie! This is a great find. I found a Harbor Freight near me and 2 cutting blades are $1.99. They look the same as we can buy at Joann's. Although, I really love the titanium blades because they last a long time. It is hard to get titanium blades for the 28mm and 60 mm rotary cutters.

I'm new at FMQ myself. So, I signed up for the Free Motion Quilting class from Leah Day on Craftsy. She is an awesome teacher and can answer every single question you have posted here. I have learned so much from her. If you go to her blog: "http://www.freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html. then scroll down to her article

What is a stitch regulator for? I am still a newbie. What do you use it for?

If I had enough money, I would buy the Baby Lock Ellisimo Gold.

Don't you just love Leah Day. She is just one of the best teachers I have ever seen. I have now modified my FMQ foot or "darning foot" that the manufacturer sent with my machine and Leah helped me modify it to work well.
