Hey Ashley! I'm in Oliver Springs (just outside of Oak Ridge). My long-arm quilter is Diana Lacy of Lacy Quilting Service. She's in West Knoxville. Email her at diana@ivdc.com . You can also check out Carolyn at Mid-South Sewing in West Knox on Kingston Pike. Both women are extremely reasonable on their pricing, do excellent work, and are personal

Each square holds the handprints of one of my mom's 12 grandchildren. The quilt was modified from a traditional 12 block to include appliqued hands and embroidered names. This is just the top. It goes off to the long arm quilter on Monday.

Well it's certainly been a WHILE since I posted here (August, maybe?) I've just finished the top of my mother's Christmas present and will be sending it off to my first-ever long arm quilter to complete on Monday. Note: each of the hands belong to one of my mother's grandchildren (who live in Connecticut, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia

Maggie, I know what you mean. The camo fabric was originally $10/yd. Since I got 8yds, I saved $40 on that alone! Aaaaand - I can do one even better! That same store I purchased the sheets (King sized, 100% cotton, $11.00) - had a whole bunch of pillowcases for $.19 ea. It's a local store to East Tennessee/Knoxville area and they always have some

Well, it wasn't a quilt, but I was hard at work yesterday behind the sewing machine! I had some GREAT coupons to Joann's (50% off any regularly priced item, 2x 40% off, 25% off entire purchase). My 11 year old son has been BEGGING me to make him a sheet set. Coupled with the cute curtains Donna Bablyon made on It's Sew Easy (PBS) yesterday

A couple of months ago, someone on this board (I believe it was Nana?) posted her picture of a Juliet bag. I loved it so much, I bought a pattern, but have had too many projects going to work on it. Well, last weekend, my daughter and I FINALLY got to sit down and get some quality sewing done, together. It was so easy! It probably would have only taken
