[quote user="Judy T-Bellingham"] Who knows, with Barbara coming back, maybe the flood gates will open and others will appear. A big plus is QCA Rachel taking the time and effort to energize us. I'm in for UFO's for next year. Scrap quilts for charity (if they are small lap size) is a wonderful idea such as wheelchair quilts for nursing

This holds true for any piecing so it is more of a general hint than specific to the fan. As a rule the bottom of the blades are finished with circle or part of a circle appliqued or stitch in. We're talking cover up here. Depending on your top edge the same may be true though often that is appliqued onto the background. Always piece from the point

[quote user="gini"] Marie, the reason you need to rejoin every time, is gg keeps the membership current. If someone hasn't posted there in a few months she deletes them. It makes sense. One of the problems here is they never delete anything and fills up so much of their space that it bogs things down. I am still getting occasional error

As I said I think it is all about personal fit. Some people like change, many don't, and that plays into gravitating elsewhere. The quilt forum I first was active on folded and sent us looking for new homes. We scattered to two or three different ones primarily. I have physically moved many times in my life and always adapted so the quilt forums

Just had a second post. This one went through the motions of being posted but poof it is gone. It was my complaint about spammers still being able to post. This is the only quilting forum where I run across this problem. Why? EDIT: My second post didn't show up until this one posted. Still a sign that there are still glitches in the system.

Might I just add that one big complaint here was spam and though somewhat improved it is still happening. This is the only quilting forum where spammers are not blocked and then also have the message up for upwards of a week before it is removed. Up again tonight. When will it be removed?

I found a new home as well and the longer it is the more comfortable I am in the new spot though I still peek in here. There are certainly some there that used to be here. I have tried many sites, as I am sure many have, and sometimes we may find a spot that seems more geared to our personal quilting needs. Sometimes our needs also change as also do

  • Re: What are you up to today #10

I placed some items into my cart but when checked shipping to Canada--poof the savings would be gone so I might change up some patterns I already have to a layout similar to the ones that interested me. Wasn't crazy for the settings on the loon patterns I had. I guess you can say I shopped and gained inspiration without spending a dime.

Weezee--I love those baby quilts and always smile when I see someone's version of that pattern. I am trying to make some daily progress on three different projects, using largely three different techniques. Dresden Plated bed runner is hand pieced plates and blocks. Vintage Tin is in hand embroidery phase. The real challenge is Montana Leaves. It
