• Re: Did You Work on a Quilt Today? #8

...just getting on the new thread. No quilting for me, but I did buy a long arm frame and Janome 1600P on Ebay and am in the process of setting it up with the PC Quilter that came with it all. It will quilt rows about 5" wide automatically once I get it all set up. Then I hope the answer everyday is "Yes. I did work on a quilt today."

Haven't sewn a lot. I bought a long arm frame and Janome 1600P on Ebay a few weeks ago and went to pick it up, I took last week off and cleaned out some of my junk room, dismantled the bed in the guest room and moved it out. Then I put the fame up and still have to figure what else I need to do to get everything working together, but my sewing room

Weezee, I like the piano keys best for a baby quilt, but there's nothing to say you can't do both. The green first, then the piano keys around the outside, if you have enough fabric. It's a great job so far.

I finally finished my mother's quilt top. Now I have all these scraps so I'm going to make it reversible with my own design on the back. I'm also going tomorrow to pick up the Janome 1600Pwith PC quilter and Grace frame I found on EBay. It's going to be a full day of driving, but worth it. I'm so excited!!!! Now I can my UFO's

I have a piece of plywood a bit bigger than my large cutting mat. I've covered it in two layers of regular batting and a piece of felt just stapled to the back. I use it for cutting, pressing and as a small design wall. Just make sure the plywood is thicker than the heavy duty staples you're using. I have this on top of the high bed in my spare

I have a question.. for those who have more experience than me... What is the best way to cut up and piece a back for a twin size quilt, with a 4 yard pc of fabric? The backing needs to be at least 59 X 78... Kelly, you can cut the length in half, selvege to selvege. this will give you two, 2 yard pieces. and sew them selvege sides together using a

I really feel like stirring the pot on this. Christine, I'm fairly new and have no side on this, but have noticed that most people here have been fairly respectful of each other. Usually when someone has a statement that is not in line with my thinking or lifestyle, I let it go, because I feel most people here are of that same mindset, or are willing
I do need a little help. The border has 4 squares that are "anchored" on each corner, I am worried about the placement and how to get it just right. Anyone have a tutorial they can suggest????
Donna, I don't have a tutorial, but ran into this problem myself and got so hung up I put a quilt away for

IS, it does seem to be quite...too quite. I'm sure there are more of us lurking around here somewhere.

Patti, love the hat. You could make them in a larger brim too. I'd want one. What would you sell them for? Margaret
