Fabric balls can be made from scraps left over from other projects. The stuffing can include all the little threads and snips, lumpy pillows, run up hosery, or scraps of quilt batting. These balls are great for giving to Christmas charity programs, after school care programs, gym teachers, or Cub Scout dens. Read my instructions at http://www.examiner

Art teachers can't always afford the materials for doing acrylic or oil paintings. Read my article, http://www.examiner.com/children-s-arts-crafts-in-panama-city/canvas-ornaments-are-miniature-works-of-art about how to make small canvases from scraps of quilting materials. These small canvas squares can be hung on a tree or wall.

Here's an article I wrote about my mother's quilting idea. When my dad had cancer and was bed ridden, she recycled old mattress pads into bed pads. This would make a good service project for older girl scouts working on their Gold Award. http://www.examiner.com/children-s-arts-crafts-in-panama-city/recycle-mattress-pads-into-a-service-project
