  • Re: Mystery Quilt Step #3- Making 4 Patch Units

Sorry to hear about your neck pain. This must be the day injections. I just had 2 (two) facet joint injections at the C5-6 and C6-7. I deal with pinched nerves in that area which causes chronic pain and headaches.. I do the ice treatments 20 minutes every hour for the first two day.. Mine is feeling better, hope your's does as well. I'll be

  • Re: Mystery Quilt Step #2-Making Triangle Squares

Jan described the method in an earlier post. I will cut and paste her explanation. "We used a tube method for MQ 9 that was quick, easy, and saved some fabric. For this quilt it would go like this. Cut 9 strip each 3 inches wide from dark and light fabrics. Put one dark and 1 light right sides together. Sew 1\4 inch seam down both sides. Take a

I did MQ 9 last year and that had 336 3 1/2" HSTs.. after that I went out and bought a Strip Tube Ruler. Looking forward to giving that at try.

Thanks for the additional sizes. I'm sure it took a lot of math.. I am hoping to join in the MQ fun.

  • MQ_9 Mama's Napper

I decided to submit my quilt although I'm not sure it is eligible for voting because I chose to change the layout. But, I've seen others that have been changed. This is what I call a 'Napper', It is more narrow than the standard size quilt (64 X 88) which I find is easier to cuddle up with on the couch without the excess width. It is

Peggy, I totally understand. I spent 6 months in and out of the hospital with my husband about a year ago and it's tough when you really wish things were different and you could what you really enjoy. Thanks for your participation, even if it was 'virtually'.. and good luck to you and your husband. Maybe next time................... thanks

  • MQ9_Alternative

Well, this is what I did with the HST's of MQ_9. I didn't like the way my cranberry and green colors made the pinwheels look like Christmas poinsettias. So, I twisted and turned the segments into a new pattern. This measures about 63 X 90 which is what I call a 'napper'. Just big enough to cover mom's lap when she is sitting with

Ladies, I am so enjoying seeing everyone's finished products. They are all so uniquely beautiful. I decided that my squares were coming out too much like a Holiday quilt so I jumped out of the box and decided to make different blocks. So, I will not post my end results until after the voting takes place. Nana, I have really enjoyed working on this
