  • Re: Discussion and Questions regarding step 6

I sat this one out. I had planned to participate, but had too much going on. Everyone's quilts are beautiful. The pattern is really unexpected. What great work. I am loving seeing everyone progress.

Barbara, your work is beautiful. I have to admit I have fallen off the free-motion band wagon. I am working on the 2013 Craftsy BOM and may consider quilting it a block at a time and then assembling. I am motivated by seeing what you do. Thanks for being a role-model!

  • Just having Fun-Jana's Craftsy BOM 2012

This is the Craftsy 2012 BOM quilt. My 10 year old granddaughter made this quilt. We substitute some blocks that she did not like or where too difficult (paper piecing) with scrappy block and more Ohio and Friendship stars. Her motto was it doesn't matter we are just having fun. I am proud of what she accomplished.

  • Serenity

This quilt is for my youngest. He is into oriental designs and the center fabric is very close to a carpet he owns.

  • Bonnie Hunter Lazy Sunday update

Hello all, Just checking back to see if there are any new takers on Bonnie Hunter's Lazy Sunday Mystery Quilt. I would love to see what each of you are going. These are the fabrics I am using. I am going with a softer blue, and yellow instead of orange. Overall I just wanted a softer summery palette. My greens are also a little on the sage side

  • QuiltMaker-Bonnie Hunter Lazy Sunday Mystery Quilt.

The March/ April edition of Quiltmaker is featuring a new Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter called Lazy Sunday. Just wondering if anyone wants to quilt along. I had such fun (strange I know) doing Easy Street with QCA members. The instructions for this quilt are not as detailed as Bonnie provided on her own site. But I am sure we can figure it out together

Finished the top. . minus the border today. I was not going to use a border, but I am thinking it might be necessary, just to keep the edges from stretching. I am thinking something about 2 inches.

Question for anyone. I want to make the back for the quilt with some left over scraps. My question: I ordered a piece of quilt backing that is a dark purple to go with the scraps. This fabric seems extra stiff. I do not usually prewash fabrics and did not prewash any of the fabrics for the top. I am kind of worried about this fabric, it's stiffness

I am glad to have this group to do the quilt with. It is a really satisfying experience and everyone's quilts are beautiful (as one would expect). Also thanks for the nice comments on my progress so far.
