I tend to just buy three yards all the time. Even if it is for a specific project and I don't necessarily need that much for it. I really like scrappy quilts, so I'm fine with that.

Thanks Barbara, this is my first time. Tomorrow I will tear my sewing room apart. Tonight, I figured it was a sign it was time to stop sit on the computer for awhile. I know I made them, so they are in there somewhere.

Yes I did today. Thank goodness. I am about halfway through the top assembly of my argyle quilt. However now I'm not the happiest since I discovered that I'm missing three finished blocks for it. I know they are in there somewhere but somehow they didn't make it back into the ziplock with the rest of them the other day.

I have been trying to get to an argyle quilt all year, it was supposed to be an anniversary present for my partner, but with school, work and the crazy amount of baby quilts I did, it didn't happen. Sorry to hear that that happened to you. Definately not cheating. Whatever works the best for you is what works the best for you. I personally am slightly jealous that I'm still cutting with a rotary cutter and mat, but then I'm young, it's time to start savign some serious money...maybe it will be my college graduation present to myself

Definately a quilt in my book. Maybe not a show quilt, but you are making them for family, and from your heart so who cares, if it's tied, hand quilted, or machine quilted.

I do the ziploc bags too. And I label them with who it's for since most of my quilts are presents so I can keep them straight. I split them up by the pieces that are cut and what block they are for and by color too, I have quite a few zIplocs sometimes. Thanks for the tip, I really like your suggestion also. I just love tips on organization.
