Carol, This is EXACTLY it! Thank you! Someone I know also said that there are placemats made the same way on the Jinny Byer studio site and the measurements could just be adjusted. See, what we did with ours was make the table runner and then use the leftover triangles to make a roundish table mat kind of thing that matches the table runner. Would be

Hello all! I haven't been on here for a while, but I figure this is probably the best place to find an answer to this question (since you're all so knowledgeable on these types of things). I recently made a table runner and matching table "mat" using horizontally striped material and a 9" 60 degree triangle ruler. I made it at

Debbie, Good luck today! I'll be praying for you! I've had 2 back surgeries for ruptured discs in my lumbar area and then lost the feeling for my sciatic nerve on the left side (first surgery, the dr. "moved" it too much to get to my back or something). It always felt like it was asleep until the surgery. After that, there's been

Thanks for the encouragement, Kris (& everyone else!). It really means a lot to know that a group of great women are pulling for me. I've been trying to drink more water this week, cut back on junk food, and only had low fat ice cream once. May not sound like a lot, but small steps!! Congrats to all of you who are losing the weight already!

Donna, thanks for asking that! My dr. has approved things I can do without a lot of pain. Swimming is great, but that's my summer "thing". I can do my recumbent bike, but the treadmill is difficult due to my broken toe. I try to do housework and go up and down the stairs a lot more during the day. I could easily stay on the first floor

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since I've been on this site, but I check in here and there to see what everyone's talking about. I was so excited when I saw this weight loss challenge! I've been trying to watch my weight, but it's hard to do it when there's no accountability or support from others doing the same thing

Thanks for all of your ideas Eileen! I haven't "talked" to you in so long! I hope you're doing well. I haven't sewn all summer b/c my son's been home and he's been battling some health issues which I've had to be a part of. I feel like a beginner all over again! I never did finish the MQV! I have all the pieces, just

Thank you all so much for your input. It sounds like there are a lot of diff types of guilds out there! Wow! I'm not sure why it seems that snooty people seem to join guilds. Do they actually "get their hands dirty" and quilt or just socialize? Hmmm... Maybe they can affor lots of the pricey material from the LQS. :) If anyone has any

Angele, Thank you so much for your ideas! They sound really cool! I guess I'm not as adventurous as you are. I'm very new to quilting and those sound tough! But, I'm up for a challenge. I'm just not sure if I'm staying with the guild either. So if I decide not to stay, I don't need to worry about the block. Guess I need to make

Diana, That is a neat block! Thank you for the idea! I appreciate it!! :) However, I guess what is easy to one person isn't necessarily easy to someone else. That block would be kind of hard for me. I'm very much a beginner! I'm still trying to decide if I even want to stay with the guild. If I don't, then I don't need to worry about
