I bought a Janome Memory Craft 6600 2 yrs ago for around $1500. Janome has some new models since I bought mine so the price may be less now. Also, you may want to consider a machine that has been traded in. They are usually serviced and offered with classes and a warranty.
I had the same problem with no quilters that I knew in this area, and no really close guild
Welcome Alane :) Glad you found this group. Karla, I have the same problem here in Las Vegas. There are only a couple quilt shops and I've heard of only one guild that meets at an inconvenient time for me.

Welcome Jan :) I'm glad you found this group. You will find a lot of inspiration here. I lived in Phoenix for several years and spent time in Tucson, often on our many trips down to Tubac :)

I'm in the same boat as you. My Rowenta started leaking last week and I returned it to Bed Bath and Beyond. I had it almost a year. This was my 4th Rowenta!! The first 2 were top of the line models at the time and they both shorted out. I gave up on Rowenta for a while and bought a Black & Decker which ended up corroding inside and began staining

I had trouble with the F&P website a while back. I called their customer service and they helped me. No problems since. I seem to remember that I had a symbol or character other than a letter or number in my password and that was the problem. Good luck :)

I donated to Quilts for Kids when I lived in another state. We recently move to Las Vegas and I emailed the contact person here but got no reply. They have a website. You can check to see if there is a contact person in your area. We have a VA hospital here and I've thought about contacting them to see if there is a need. Good luck.
I have a Bernina record over 30 years old
Frances, Which model Bernina do you have? I have a 930 Record that I bought in 1984. I love it and won't part with it even though I own a couple newer machines that have more updated features.
