  • Re: Long arms, any recommendations?

I have the Block Rockit from Kathy Quilts. I love it. The price is unbelievable for what you get. I would highly encourage you to look into this machine. It does have a computerized capacity. I just didn't buy it. The cost of this machine you will not be able to beat and the costumer service they provide is beyond any I have seen or heard about

I finally thought to contact Angela Huffman for APQS. She told me it is a prototype that she will be coming out with at the end of the year. She will be selling them off her website. I know what I want for Christmas. Alison

  • longarm ditch ruler

Fon's and Porter on their 2406 series show was about longarms. In the show it had a stitch in the ditch ruler with groves for accurate ditch work. On the supply list it is called Innie/Outie SID ruler. When I went to the web site they had for it the ruler was not there. Has anyone heard of this ruler and if so where I can buy it. I have checked

  • Re: Adding to a Quilt

Remove the binding. Add the border as you would have before it was finished. As far as the borders go you can add pieced borders to add more interest. Oh, I forgot. I would take out the quilting just an 1/2 " or so. You can get batting tape to add the batting. once everything is finished you would quilt the new pieces to match the rest of the quilt

  • Re: Block Rockit Midarm

Kathy Quilts, where I got the BR, is cheaper than the Monique. I would look at both prices and go with the cheapest since they are the same machine. I have had wonderful customer service with Kathy Quilts. Call Lynn at Kathy Quilts and let him know you are looking at both machines. He may be able to beat the price. Alison

In a few occasions. I have 10" of usable space. I have learned to work within this. For the money it was worth it. BR has all the features of the more expensive machines. I don't think there is much out there that can compete for the money. I just couldn't afford the others and the Bailey seemed too difficult to work with. I still love

I don't have a Bailey but I have a Block Rockit by Kathy Quilts. It is a wonderful machine and has only been out a little over a year. It is a 14" midarm. It has all the bells and whistles of the more expensive machines. The stitch regulator is part of the machine, needle up and down and much more. Grace Frames has their own version of the

  • Re: Cutting straight lines

There is a class on Crafty on cutting. I am an experienced quilter but decided to take the class to see if I am missing anything. I did learn quite a bit. I thought it was a great class. If you get it on sale the price is worth it. She does things differently than I have ever been taught. Good luck getting everything working. Alison

  • Re: machine quilting

Congrats on finishing your first quilt. I am sure this will be the first of many as the quilting bug is very addicting. You can use whatever thread you used to piece for your stitch in a ditch. I use 40-50 wt depending on what color I need. As for tying I would use embroidery thread. The kind for hand embroidery, not the kind for machine embroidery
