Kris, thank you for letting me know the book is on the market! It'll be so much easier calculating the sashing strips and 9 patch size variations if I have the original dimensions to play off of. I use up more than enough brain cells at work, didn't want to have to sit down and work this out on my own too. That's what makes quilting "work"

Barbara, I thought about doing that same thing - making two quilts from all the blocks. Then I saw this quilt and layout and thought I might be able to put them all into one quilt. I think this one is set on point, with the pieced sashings and 9 patch cornerstones: What do y'all think? Would this work?

I can't find the May Birthday discussion thread so I thought I'd post it here. Since getting home, I've been putting my sewing room together and gathered all the lovely birthday blocks I received from all of you. Wanted to share this with you as well as thank you all once again:

Here's my version of the block. Since I have quite a few 8" orphan blocks, I've decided to go with the smaller blocks - maybe, in the end, I can incorporate all the blocks into one 'home':

My favorite quickie dinner is dumping a bag of frozen meatballs into the crockpot and pouring a bottle of either BBQ sauce or Sweet and Sour sauce over the top. Cubes of cheese, a container of grape tomato and put out the crackers. Serve with toothpicks, instead of plates and forks (why not reduce the dishes/cleanup too?), and you have a feast worthy

Spudgrandma, please take a look in your personal messages :-) Jenn

Oh, hey, Elaine - that's brilliant! Like Judy, I'm usually cussing the bundle of binding out or competing with the cats for it.

Barbara, are you making the 8 inch blocks or the 12 inch blocks? Jenn

I use Bonnie Hunter's system and have made MANY scrap quilts by following her tips on saving scraps and using them with her Leaders/Enders idea. Here's the link to her blog article about saving scraps: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/06/scrap-users-system.html
