Did you cut 1.5 inch strips? One inch cut strips sewn together with 1/4 inch seams will end up at 1/2 inch. I.5 inch strips sewn together with 1/4 inch seams will give you a 1 inch finished strip. Just checking -- I have made this mistake myself.

Hi Vaness, and welcome! Quick start to quilting: 1. Go to a fabric store or quilt shop and buy a beginner's quilt book -- there are many good ones. You want a book that starts with all the basics. 2. The book you choose should include a chapter on quilting supplies; buy the basics, don't go crazy with getting all the gadgets at this point. If

We both have a new reason to make dozens of quilts in the coming years -- don't

This is the first time I have tried free motion quilting -- and this is the most complex pattern I have done so far. This is the first time I have posted a picture of one of my quilts. Have only

I did a simple friendship star block pattern for my teen-aged nephew - used a navy blue, yellow, green and purple fish print star on a background of tan and gray-ish purple with sashing and double borders of navy and tan -- and a brown binding --light/medium blue backing. He loved it.
