Pinwheel quilt using fabric from grandpa's ties. Because necktie silk fabric is lightweight and cut on the bias, the pinwheel "wings" were all Foundation Pieced. Every other set of wings is pieced from multiple ties fabrics. Half-square triangle method used to sew to oxford cloth background fabric.

Everyone is doing so many involved designs. Impressive. Those pieced Harry Potter designs are so intricate. My boys (now men) prefer geometric, modern designs (but there was a time Harry Potter thrilled them to no end!). Beautiful girl, beautiful dress - needed a matching purse to carry just a few items. The Stash provided the fabric and embellishments, but alas even a Stash as all encompassing as mine could not create additional time for sewing....

Thank you for such lovely comments. I posted photos of the jacket front and back and a few other details on The Destashification Project . The photos were too large to post herein. We gave the jacket to my Mom this weekend. She had a great time trying to determine what each of the embellishments meant!

My Stash runneth over... My mother asked for a Memory Jacket for her 80th birthday. With the exception of the charms, I was able to complete most of the jacket embellishment from The Stash.
