Well, as it sit here, leg in cast, up on a stool, I'm realizing that I'm just not going to be able to make it to the retreat. It will start just 4 weeks after I broke my ankle, and I'm still not sure yet how much I'll be allowed to be walking on it. But I do know that it will be much easier to continue to recuperate here at home, where

Well, don't know what it is with us "women of a certain age".... but it seems it's always something. Others have had illnesses, backs, knees, and now it's my ankle. I fell off a step & broke my left ankle last Sunday, not supposed to need surgery, but will have it checked again Monday. HOPEFULLY by the 30th I will be able to

I'll second what Gini said " for those of you flying in or coming on a train, leave the bulky stuff from those of us driving" I'll be coming up from Tri-Cities WA, about 3 hours away & will have the car to myself, so more than enough room for anything we might need. Welcome Pamela,.... small world, I'm in South Richland, WA. I've been quilting just a year now, but I think I've finished 6 quilts & 2 more tops. And have started on 3 or 4 more. We'll have to get together. Cheryl

I've finished about 6 quilts now, (still have a few tops to be quilted), and I've only used straight binding. I would probably use bias if the edges of the quilt were curved in any way, but otherwise, straight has worked fine for me. And I've found that my arm goes numb when I do much hand work, I use a double-fold binding, sew the raw edges
