• duplicate post?

    I FINALLY got online and made a post to my Christmas all year long group, and it tells me it is a duplicate post! This is hard enough for me to do, without the computer telling me I already did it, when I didnt!

    I also let local people know that when they have a loved one die who was a crafter of any sort, I will take anything the family doesnt want and make sure the stuff gets new homes. I have done all sorts of sewing and crafting, and have half a dozen people who I regularly give various things to. Most of it ends up in charity items, whether I make it,

    I use alot of triangles to make half square triangles, and right now I'm trying to save up a bunch of assorted ones to make a scrappy star quilt. They will be the star points. Doesnt matter if they are the same size or not, this is Verrrry scrappy. See Bonnie Hunter's column....

    I love doing scrap quilts. I have been doing hand sewing since I was a little girl, and wanted to take up quilting because it seems that even the oldest ladies still manage to quilt even after their eyes get bad, and mine are going already. I cant do the embroidery or counted cross stitch like I used to, but quilting has opened up a whole new world

    I make a habit of letting everyone know I will take any scraps they find too small for their use. This way I can ease their conscience at throwing away fabric they dont want to bother with, and I frequently get wonderful scraps of material I never would have purchased, that I just need a little piece of ....

    To keep myself and anyone in the family from using my best scissors for something that will dull them, I color code each pair of scissor. The cheap ones with the green handle are ok for anyone to use for whatever they want, and the red or orange handled ones are off-limits to anyone but me! I also have other colors for other uses, which helps me out

    If you like the look of scrappy quilts, but don't have the confidence to pick the colors, just select a dozen fat quarters of fabric collections, and use them. The quilt will always look good if the fabrics look good together.
