  • Re: canadian quilt conference in Halifax, may 2012

I'd love to go to Halifax, my sister lives outside Lunenburg, but I'm with Pat, unless I win 649 I ain't going nowhere fast! I'll have to ask her if she's going, I'm sure she will, she's a member of 2 quilt guilds in NS.

Marilyn, Monty is super cute! Glad you are feeling better too, that silly chronic stuff we have to deal with sometimes can be a real downer. And work, well, that just gets in the way all the time. How can anyone be creative when they have to be at work????

  • I really really really need some opinions!

This quilt that I am attempting for my daughter is a king 10 x 11 rows. The pattern is like this. I am doing the back one, with the double circles on it. I have laid the blocks out on the floor and they look like the next pictures. but I am just not sure about it. Now that I look at the original picture maybe it will be ok once the circles are on it

Or moving the coffee table and doing it on the living room floor that way I at least have carpet to crawl around on. I was also going to do

There were around 200 juried quilts plus another display of challenge quilts, and wearable quilts and art quilts and shopping, and classes, and lectures and it was WONDERFUL! Took a lecture with Susan Purney Mark from Victoria who does her own dying, it was amazing. I really would

I've heard of the Quilts of Valour but had only seen the American site. I think our guild talked about doing some for the Canadian one, but we took a break for the summer so it may come up again in Sept. I have a problem I need some help with. I am doing a king size quilt for DD, with 100 9" blocks. The blocks are different colors (great for

  • Re: Where in Canada are you?

Welcome Ashley. How cool that you and Kim are going to be able to meet!! I am a member of the Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild. I'm sorry to hear your guild stopped meeting, we have so much fun with our guild, it's only a year old, and still small (about 25-30) but we do have a good time together.

Another great site is www.daystyledesigns.com . Leah Day has almost 320 different free motion video samples, and she has lots of great info, she shows how to do each design on youtube. And speaking of youtube. there are lots of great tutorials on there for fmq feathers.
