Nana, I spent the weekend trying everything I could to get my free motion to work with monofilament thread. I would get it working on scraps material and switich over to my quilt and it would not work and I must have pulled out the stitching 3/4 times. It would either be loose on the top or bottom. I adjusted tension just couldn't get it right.

Thanks, I'll try that tonight when I get home and let you know how I make out. I really wanted to finish this quilt on JH and see how much room I have. The rose was very small. This was a gift for my 65 th BD on monday. I don't free any older, but the red tape the gov puts on us is mindboggling.

Nana. I don't think so, fortunately, it was the first time I had tried it so I was using a scrap and not on my quilt. I was discouraged and thought about putting my Rose back on the table but didn't. WHen I go home tonight I will try again (very nervous). Should the hole plate be closed?

Hi was this a pattern, I've been looking for a masculine one to do for my husband. He used to work for the park service and this would be perfect? Can you share where you got the pattern? Linda DD

Sorry, I am on only at work. which I work with only caps on. I live so remote, we don't have cable or dial up. Last night I was trying to do some free motion on scrap not my quilt. With monofilament and I bent my needle. It had sewed 4/5 stitches fine before it jammed. I had to take the plate off to get the needle out. I considered putting my rose

HI, I'M A NEWBIE, I JUST GOT MT JH 2 WEEKS AGO. I GOT A QUICK OVERALL AT THE DEALERS. I'VE WATCHED TO DVD AND READ THE MANUAL. MY QUESTION IS : I'VE TRIED SOME OF THE DIFFERENT STITCHES. CAN I FOLLOW THE CURVES ON APPLIQUES WITH THESE STITCHES OR IS IT JUST FOR STRAIGHT STITCHING? I TRIED TO TURN THE FABRIC SLOW BUT IT DOESN'T MOVE WELL
