Made for a challenge in my local art quilt group. We were given the orange fabric and I thought it looked like a mushroom cap.

My first try at Ricky Tims' Convergence technique. Lots of fun!

This was inspired by the fabric used for the sky, which is supposed to depict the Northern Lights. I have always been fascinated by the phenomenon. It's only my second quilt and first landscape quilt, so it is fairly simple. I did learn a lot. Sorry the picture isn't great, I guess photographing my quilts is one thing I have to learn! Unfortunately

I made this for my Nook ereader. It's my own design.

Great, Liz! I am excited to get this group rolling:) One thing that we do in the Art Quilt Bee that I am a member of here in NC is to choose a theme and everyone makes an art quilt based around that theme. It could be a subject, a colour, a particular piece of fabric, or anything we can think of. Past themes have been "circles", "orange"

You won't be too far from me either Liz, I live in the Durham North Carolina area. I am pretty new to quilting, but since I suggested the group to begin with I am more than happy to help moderate it or do anything else I can to help.

Welcome, Easter Marie :) I am new here too. It's great to meet you :)

Great, thanks Liz! And to everyone who has supported my idea :)

Hi all! I am new to QCA and to this group. I did my first free motion quilting on my very first quilt, this past January. It was so fun, I was instantly hooked :) I plan to do a lot more in the future and figured this group would be a great place to pick up tips and get questions answered.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome :) Lisa
