you could applique the water lilies to the quilt top. I often google coloring pages to find simple pictures to use as an applique pattern. There may even be a coloring page out there of Monet's water lily painting. Isn't quilting fun! one idea leads to another and you will always have more quilts to make.

Thanks everyone! I want to get it quilted instead of getting hidden in a "to quilt" pile. I don't think I have a big enough piece of fabric for the back, thinking about just piecing together several blue til it's big enough. Got to use up fabric so there's room on the shelf for new ones...

  • Re: fabric stash

I'm always trying to whittle mine down. I make many quilts with what I have but I have a wandering eye that seems to always spy some new fabric that I don't have and needs to come live in my sewing room. Perhaps I'm OK as long as I haven't run out of space and/or hiding places. Plus my 10 year old has been sewing too, so I need stash

Yay, I FINALLY got my top done. Whew, it's a lot of pieces but I love how it turned out. I changed up my colors but then I changed up Bonnie's design a bit too to make it work better with my fabrics.

Briget-Carol and Judy, love your quilts. You 2 are the smart ones making a smaller version. I thought I might get this finished last month...haha..wishful thinking!! I have more than half of my top assembled now though. I seem to be short about 6 4-patches, need to make those and continue on. I WILL get this done before the end of this month.

Here's mine so far. I just need 40 more of step 4. Since my neutral is navy I decided to switch my my other blues. So I'n using light blue instead of Bonnie's darker purple. Fingers crossed that it's going to work out OK.
