• Re: scalloped binding

I googles scalloped binding and came up with THIS video and THIS tutorial. In this tutorial she marks the scallops but doesn't cut then until the binding is sewn on. I would have not thought of that but it saves you from sewing binding onto stretchy bias edges. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Darlene, That's a very sweet baby quilt. I haven't had much time to sew lately. We've had our house for sale and now have an offer. So as long as no big surprises on the house inspection we should have a deal. That doesn't help much for sewing though, more like packing and packing. At least I can get it all done while the kids are in

Hi Meme, welcome. I too love scrap quilts. Why use a couple of fabrics when you can use 100.

Hi Tracy. I'm not to far from you also, near Spirit Lake. Quilting keeps me sane too. It's how I survive life raising a houseful of kids..well the kids aren't so bad, it's all those years of teenagers.

I haven't been on here in a LONG time. My computer and this site were just not co-operating and my internet is sometimes very slow, I just gave up trying. On a whim I came here tonight and it's back to working. I have a lot of catching up to do but it is great to see posts from lots of friends.
I need some input from anyone who wants to weigh in on a "string quilt" (sometimes called a strip quilt) that I'm working on right now. I don't like the way it's looking. I'm not sure why, I just don't like it. Too busy maybe? Here it is so far, up on my design wall.
Beth here's

This lady has some nice paper-piecing quilts. She just finished a cool lighthouse one that was a free BOM, now you have to buy the pattern. She is starting another BOM in September and will tell the theme in July. http://www.claudias-quilts.com/shop/index.html
