This is the back of my star quilt. No, I didn't make a mistake and cover it with a piece of non-matching fabric in the lower left corner...lol. The guild rules state that we had to attach a label then cover it with another piece of fabric until after judging is complete. Hi All! Been SO busy so I apologize for not posting more often. Here's my latest project completed. This is a challenge quilt from one of my guilds. The theme was "Stars, Stars, Stars!" and the challenge fabric was lamé. I used original blocks with a lone star. This quilt is entirely quilted on a domestic sewing machine. I used

Great tip although you won't find many skirt hangers in my house...lol. Another tip for when you're sewing blocks together is to get a flannel backed vinyl table cloth and cut it up into sections a bit bigger than your blocks. You can organize your block pieces on the flannel, stack them and keep them at your sewing machine sewing layer by layer

I have to agree with Kris. I LOVE Soft Fuse. I also "window" the applique pattern. What I mean is that I rough cut about a 1/4 inch around the outside of the pattern, then cut about a 1/4 inch around the inside of the pattern leaving an opening. in the middle of the applique piece. WHEW!! I have to say the door is DONE! (At least until some judge says they don't like something at which time I'll rip it all apart...lol!) I included a close up to show the "moss" in the cracks of the pavers.

Binding is done and vines and leaves are sewn on. Have to trim off threads from right hand leaves. Last thing to do is put "grass" and "twigs" below the door. Almost done with this quilt. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
