  • Re: long arm quilter

You need to look at other machines as well. I have a baby lock crown jewel, but if I had know then what I know now--I would have bought the handiquilter advantage. They are the same exact machines. The Handiquilter is more cost effective. Good luck with your decision Granny M

  • Re: long arm thread?

I have a crown jewel, so don't know about your machine. The jewel is made by Handiquilter, (shhh, not suppose to tell) They recommend the Gros Becket needles and carry all the sizes. I never heard of a machine that only used one size of needle. But hey, I sure don't know everything. Good luck Granny M

I have this problem every once in a while. Had it a lot when I first started long arming. Here are the things I found that could happen. 1. using a needle to small for the thread I was using. I use a 14 with 70 wgt, 16 with 50 wgt and 18 with 40 wgt 2. Needle is turned just a tiny bit, I marked my hopping foot soon as a found where the needle worked

  • Re: Joni's Passing

My thoughts and prayers to her family. She will be missed. We have a memorial garden here on QCA that was set up just for members who have passed. Sukohi or someone who knows her needs to contact QCA Admin to have her included in the garden. It is a place we can share our thoughts of the person and all the good memories. LOL Granny M

  • Re: Longarmers Share #2

Was the problem with the QCA site the reason this slowed down, or like me did everyone get so busy they could not check in. I really need to get internet at my studio, but I don't even have a phone there. Kind like it that way, no interruptions. Does have it's down side though Granny M

  • Re: Did You Work on a Quilt Today? #9

I have been snowed in for a week. I did remember to cut out and bring a quilt home from the studio to work on here. It has been so dark and gloomy around here this winter that I am doing a Trip around the world in bright primary colors. Really bright colors.. Coming along really well except I put one panel together all wrong and had to rip it all out
