I have the Bernina 440 QE as well as the Brother Duetta 4500D, they are both sewing and embroidery machines...they are both great machines, the only thing I do not like about the Bernina 440 is that if you want to embroider on it, you have to hook it up to your computer where the other machine you do not have to do that. I have been sending my quilts out to have them quilted and I have never had to square them up...I have not been making quilt tops as long as you ladies have. I am also self-taught through lots of books and web sites. I am really not quite sure how to square up the backing and the top but was told I needed to do this before the quilting process. Can

I have been practicing and now am getting cold feet...LOL. I wanted to do it myself on my home machine but the more I look at it the more terrified I get... yikes. Not sure whether to use stipple, cross hatch, meander, echo....any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Yes, the dies can get quite pricey, it is better to wait until they have a sale which they do on a regular basis. I have tried to figure out why the QuiltCut2 has so much play in it and gives but I have not been able to figure it out or a way to prevent it. As far as the GO is concerned with cutting strips most of the strip cutter dies are open ended
