Sorry I don't know anyone in Norristown. We only eat and sleep here due to jobs in opposite directions by two hours. That will all change in a month, when we move to north Dakota.

I would suggest that you look at one brand of rulers that you would like to use, do to slight variations in marking between different brands. I got a package deal of square rulers from Joann's. Also make sure they have the extra half inch.

There is a machine called sashiko that will do spaces between stiches.

Try french seams. There are a couple utube videos to help.

When I pre washed my fabric I found that the fabric was harder to piece and came unraveled. Ifi chose to do this again should I starch the fabric before cutting out my pieces?

To keep myself from leaving the iron on I use a power strip with a lamp plugged into it, when the lamp is on I know my iron is still on.
