    To everyone I am glad you are enjoying the batiks and highly recommend using the pattern I enclosed with the swap. It is easy and results in a great lap quilt when completed. As for the glitches I too sympathize with those who are having issues. I have had issues for almost 8 months regqarding problems making posts and agree that it is tiem QCA fixes

    UPDATE -- September 17 Final package from Pat arrived today and packages will be in the mail tomorrow (Tuesday). I am sure everyone will enjoy the batiks and pattern I have chosen for this swap. Thank you all for participating.

    Eva, I have tried online but prefer consignment shops. Depending where you are located the rates can vary quite a bit. In Florida they range between 10-30%. You have to be willing to pay out the percentage in order to sell through consignment. Another avenue that seems to work well is flea markets. We have several upscale ones and I find the cost of

  • Re: Rotary Mat has a funny smell

    I called Olfa and asked them what they woujld suggest and they suggested mixing a little baking soda with vinegar & water and wiping the mat down. The oder is caused by the reaction of the chemicals used in making the mat during manufacturing. It will disapate in time they assured me.

    Try cleaning it with a mild soap solution. I wash every new mat I buy and this seems to help.

    UPDATE -- September 13 I am giving til Saturday for the missing packages to arrive and if they do not arrive by Saturday I will cut additionaly fabric if needed and mail out everyone's p[ackage on Monday. I have been more than patient awaiting the final packages and do not want to hold anyone up any further.

    To wash or not to wash has always been a question for the ages when it comes to quilting. While some still like to prewash today's fabrics do not need to be prewashed as most are preshrunk and that was the reason for pre washing in the first place. I choose not to prewash and have had no problems with quilts I have made. I do however recommend that
