  • Re: Need help...Applique on longarm??

I have actually seen that appliqué done in person....Harriet was at my local quilt shop for our long arm retreat last year. She recreated the same youtube appliqué. It was great but I am looking for stitching that won't show as much on my ribbons.

I am now thinking I will just stitch around the applique pieces with the long arm. If I applique the pieces down first with a satin stitch or blanket stitch I don't know if they will look good because the stitch will show a lot. With the longarm not only will it be easier to maneuver but the simple stitch shouldn't show as much if I use monopoly

  • Need help...Applique on longarm??

This is my latest creation. I was thinking of adding the Accuquilt ribbon twist applique pieces with a few applique flowers.... My question is ... should I quilt first then add applique via the longarm? Should i applique via my domestic machine then quilt? What would you do? • Planning page

I own a long arm but I am not using it for business just for myself. Wondering what others use to plan out their quilting. Is there some sort of standard items I should keep track of....length, width, thread, etc?? Does anyone have a sample sheet they would be willing to share??

  • Leader grips

Which are the best leader grips out there? I have seen clear ones, red snapper ones, and even blue ones. Are there any differences? They all seem to do the same thing. I am tired of the wounds from pinning my quilt.

  • Re: Preparing backing

If I fold the fabric in half lengthwise I appear to have 82 inches which makes sense now. Is it bad to have the seam down the middle?

  • Bag lining closure

I have been making quite a few bags lately and I am wondering what the best way is to finish off the lining of a bag. Once I turn the bag from the inside out through an opening in the lining I have been using my bernina blind hem foot #5 and stitching close to the edge. Does anyone have any other suggestions or even photos of how they finish their bags

  • Re: Buying a longarm (HandiQuilter HQ Pro Stitcher)

I just bought the Handi Quilter Avante without the Pro-Stitcher. The 0% financing deal really did it for me. My mom has a Gammill with the computer so I figured if I really need the computer I can go to her house. I wanted to have my own machine that I could really develop my skills as a long arm quilter with. I don't usually do free motion but

  • Label, washing instructions

I recently made a baby quilt for a coworker to give to her niece as a baby shower gift. Should I label it?? If so what do I put on the label, normally I would say who it was made for but in this case I don't know. Also should I include washing instructions or Shout Out sheets?
