This wallhanging was made for a challenge that a friend's quilt guild does every year. The purple coneflower fabric came from the old block. I designed this myself after pouring over old quilt magazines for ideas and patterns. Each of the flower patterns were taken from a different source. I used seed beads in some of the flower centers.

I made this bag for my daughter. This bag was made using the Mini Messenger bag pattern designed by Darci Wright in MaCall's Quilting Magizine, May 2011. The owl applique came from the pattern 'Remember Whooo Loves you' by Acorn Quilt and Gift Company. I reduced the owl applique by 50% to put on the bag. I prequilted the fabric on the outside

Thanks for the ideas Roze and everyone else. I'm just about ready to start the blocks unless I do the boader first. I am planning on cross-hatching there like I did in the center.

Thanks for the input. I like the idea of doing a flower in the center. I kept thinking feather, but thought that would be alot.

I'm hand quilting my Stars around the Garden quilt. For the appliqued center and boarder, I'm outlining the applique and cross-hatching. For the sashing, I've made up a vine with leaves similar to what's in the applique. My question is how should I quilt the star blocks. I've had one suggestion to outline quilt the triangles and

Last winter, my quilt group (4 of us), made a block to exchange using the same fabrics. This is what I did with my four blocks. I added the center block and am very pleased with the results.
