• Re: MQ13 - General Discussion

Debi, hopefully I will be ready by the 28th. Stash desperately needs sorting to move to my larger room when it is ready. Maybe I will be able to find what I need more easily when I don't have to work in the middle of the kitchen and store fabrics all over the house where I can find a hole to stuff them in. This has been a very busy week so I didn't

I am waiting, but never ready, as usual. Too many irons in the fire! I will soon have my old recreation room ready to be my new WARM sewing room. The room is 16 x 24 with lots of windows and a 5' x 9' table - pool table covered with very shabby ping-pong table with legs removed. Since no-one has used them for years, I now claim them as MINE

Debi, sorry you are having so many problems getting these mysteries posted for us. It must be very time-consuming and frustrating for you. This site used to be so much fun EVERY DAY - now I check occasionally and am disappointed with what I DON'T find, so go on somewhere else. Have started 5 or 6 mystery-type quilts since you have been trying to

Judy, the wedding quilt turned out beautifully. I am sure they will cherish it forever. I have been keeping up with your progress but haven't commented here in a long time. Too busy and too OLD to do what I want. I have 3 wedding quilts to "finish". One is purple stars and the top is nearly finished - started around grandson's wedding

  • Re: Quilting with precuts AND pre washed fabric yardage

Renee, I have usually cut large lengths of fabric to wash - always with color catchers. 2 yard lengths are fine unless using for backing. Cut backing pieces the lengths needed for the quilt then wash. I find that cheaper fabrics usually shrink more and muslin the most, depending on quality of muslin. Better quality shrinks less and wrinkles more. I

Thanks, Roxana, it worked! I was just pushing the tab, not the WORD! Usually the whole tab is activated, not with this. Learn something new every day. If in doubt, click on the word.

Have to get the car now from town, then will try again later. My internet has been very slow lately - what I get for having to have dial-up and being in the

  • Re: Did you work on a quilt today? #11

If anybody noticed, I just changed my name back to what it was originally. I added the SM when another Marsha posted in a Mystery a few years ago. I haven't seen her post since, so I just decided to go back to what I am comfortable with.

Patricia, I really like your Allietare from Bonnie Hunter. I have started several of her quilts, but never seem to catch up with her. Too many other projects in the works. Some day I hope to at least finish he ones I started. I have the pattern downloaded for this one but never even looked for fabrics. I hope this posts now. Tried a few minutes ago
Hubby had back surgery and I've been kind of tied up with that.
Judy, I know just where you are with that! Rich had back surgery in January for a gigantic cyst which was pressing on his spinal cord nearly to the point of permanent damage. He was in horrible pain - sciatic nerve, etc. Now he is pain
