When I'm online shopping, I like Somewhere Sewing.. Debi has good prices, quality fabrics, and great customer service. And, may I toot my own horn here? My husband and I own a small quilt shop called Persephone's Creations. We sell mostly to internet customers, but we welcome walk-ins, too. Most of our fabric is under $8.00/yard. Our wide backings

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I had been thinking along the lines of log cabin because that was the block I had used for my first quilt. After I posted my question, my husband found a block in Marsha McCloskey's Block Party . It's called Cross Country and is a variation of the log cabin. It uses the four colors and has a larger center

My niece is going to start quilting next month after she moves into a new apartment. She's chosen a floral pattern from the Enchanted Garden collection from Moda, with rose, lilac and yellow for accents. She's asked my husband and I to help her choose a pattern. We were thinking Churn Dash or Hole in the Barn Door with different color accents

Mary, I'm so sorry you're feeling so yucky today. I know exactly how you feel, and it's very frustrating, but it will get better. I'm happy to hear that your kitty came home!

Well, I was supposed to work out today, but I blew that off - absolutely NO motivation! My sweet hubby's taking me to lunch at Red Lobster and we're going to do some errands. After that, who knows? I have to tear out some bad stitching on a quilt I have on the longarm. I also want to do some more machine embroidery and do some piecing.

I live just off I-75, north of Chattanooga. [/quote] Nan, I live straight across the river in Soddy Daisy, but I could meet up with you and Sukochi. This is sounding

Nana, I just saw this in the newsletter. I'd definitely be interested! My first choice would be the mountains, but the coast would be fine!

The title is Sun Stand Still and the author is Steven Furtick. I got it for my Kindle, but I kind of wish I'd gotten the hard copy version so I could mark it up.. It seemed a little out there when I first started, but it all came together in the end. He's not off the deep end, in my opinion.

I did like the X-Files for the first few years, and I do like NCIS:LA, too! I'll have to check out Bones and Fringe. I have to admit it's easier for me to stay focused on a specific study, which is what I normally do. But, I decided to be different this year. I just finished a book on prayer, and I'm going to re-read it to let it all sink

I watch TV some (NCIS is my favorite show) and I enjoy watching Netflix streaming movies/TV shows while I'm quilting. Right now, I'm watching the Stargate SG-1 Series. I also love to read and listen to music. My favorite music is contemporary Christian. I'm reading my Bible through this year. I received a Kindle for Christmas, so I've
