  • Re: what's up and where's forums?

Actually I'm beginning to wonder-are there only 5 forums here? That's all I see on the message boards link. I was sure there were more than 5 before though. Anyway I still don't like it and I really want my magazine. I won't be renewing-it ticks me off to no end when the stores get them that much earlier than subscribers do.

Thanks-I'll watch for it. I'm not techno challenged by a longshot. I spend about 90% of my online time on message boards and have worked for a few since 2000 when I first got a computer. I have never seen one quite like this one. I am wondering why there isn't a full list of every forum like most boards have-I can see recent activity and

UGH. I don't like it. I feel like it went from bad to worse-I quit coming here because of the awful format and now I like it even less. I just want to know where my current Easy Quilts is because the stores have had it for at least a week now.

  • Re: Fab Shop Hop

I've done them for probably the past year, year and a half. I have won a lot of $10 gcs but I admit I don't always use them. Sometimes the shops just don't have anything I like.

  • Re: Accuquilt studio or go ??

The dies are not interchangeable from what I understand. I ordered the Go. It's not nearly as expensive and it folds up-I don' t have room for a big cutter. Also I'm pretty sure I won't use the Go as much as I should for the amount it costs so I definitely didn't want to spend the big $$ on the Studio. Bad enough that the dies are

  • Re: To wash or not wash fabric????

I quit pre washing when I started using a lot of precut fabrics. I want the entire quilt to be either washed or not washed-I don't mix.

I noticed a few people said they use flannel to back quilts. Do you prewash all of the fabrics? If not, is there ever a problem with shrinking? I know I've read that flannel usually shrinks more than regular quilting cotton and also that it sometimes will shrink even in the 2nd wash/dry. If you do prewash, do you not use precuts (like jelly rolls

  • Re: Help! My quilts are not warm!

I have only made one lap quilt so far but I used quilting cotton on both sides and cotton batting. When I first put it over me, it doesn't feel as warm as, say, our fleece blankets-but it warms up in a few minutes. And it's a lot prettier. :D

  • Re: Does anyone make purses? Interfacing or batting?

I know the Amy Butler messenger bag calls for canvas as a stiffener. The thing is, my current bag is canvas and is so heavy-so I want to stay away from that or even cotton duck. I think I'm going to use batting. I did buy fusible fleece but I'm worried about it staying fused if I don't quilt it. If I have to quilt it, I'd rather use

[quote user="Betty"] I may be a little confused as to what you are trying to do but if you do use batting you will need some sort of lining or the exposed batting will get shredded. Yes, you can layer the face fabric, batting and inside fabric and treat them as one fabric when you are making the purse but then as you say, you will need to
