  • Re: Any of you are using EQ5, 6 or 7?

Kris is quicker on reply than I - lol - she is correct. After a block is chosen, you can either print a picture of the block, the paper piecing foundations, the templates or the rotary cutting direction for that one block. In the foundation choice - it automatically chooses what it thinks you should do - but you can regroup the pieces and renumber them

I started with EQ6 and now have EQ7. I use is all the time. I am in a BOM with uses template which I hate and lots of bias sewing. So I draw the blocks in EQ and print out the paper piecing foundations. My blocks are dead spot on for the points and are exactly the size they need to be. I also use it to play with border numbers and sizes. As well as

I agree with Gini - some machines are picky. Lots of my friends use Guterman or Coats and Clark and are very happy with the results. My domestic machine will sew with anything but I find the stitches with Aurilil and Presencia look nicer and lay flatter so I use those for piecing. When working on purses, clothing or other crafty sorts of projects, I

It is "leaf peeping season" here in New England -lol. So while I have been busy with impromptu visitors almost every week since early October I have found it tough to keep track of all the good things on line. I have gone back a few pages to see what everyone is doing but I am still so far behind. Although I have not been on line - I have

  • Re: Piecing question

Firstly - I have no idea about the name other than I like it. and I like your fabric choices. You piecing look really great. As far as assembling it, I myself would probably proceed the way you are going. I would press all the seams in row one lets say to the left and row to - to the right. That way your seams are easy to butt together and they will

Ramona - the quilts are beautiful and your quilting looks great. As for doing custom quilts - I have never done one. I generally do not do any quilts other than my own. But it takes me two days to do small stippling on a quilt - so I would say compared to me you are not slow at all - lol!! My throat on my voyager is only 17" and with an L size

Thea - all I can say is Oh MY - what beautiful quilts. I am guessing that you have done more in one month than I did all this year - lol!! They are wonderful - I have never tried a twister - I think you have inspired me to go out and get one to try. Your embroidery is gorgeous as well. Glad you are able to sew now.

  • Re: Can't live without ??

There are lots but top on my list would be the rotary cutter and mat. The first quilt I made back in the 80s was a log cabin and I "ripped" all those pieces to avoid using the scissors on all those strips.

I have missed so much the last few days - still feeling yucky from a sinus problem. What I saw, when trying to catch up, the hat,, the wallhangings (the Witch is really cute and the Angled Wallhanging is really neat) The Boot applique as well as the Quilt Shop are all great. I finally got into the sewing room today and put together the final blocks
